3 years agoWe rented a car Feb. 24th 2020. We have done this for many years and have always been very pleased but this year we were shocked when they wanted us to drive a car that had a dent in the left front fender and the right fender was taped,yes taped to the car. The back bumper had a cut all the way across from left to right. The car was filthy on the outside full of dust and bird droppings. The windows needed a scrubbing too. The front seats had coverings on them . There were sand kernels on the seats. The agent tried to tell us he had it all written down and we would not be responsible for any of this!!!!! I am still shocked that they were not embarrassed to rent this car. Finally they gave us a smaller car that was in excellent condition—they way they rented cars to us in the past.5 years agoTwice they failed in performance once we waited over an hour to get what we had reservations for for 6 weeks! Also a month later they gave us a car with a flat tire! We didnt know it until just got out of the city of Jerusalem! Started booking two cars with my brother. Gave my credit card. Was then informed that I would need to pay more and that went above my card limit so was unable to continue the process. I was promised my deposit would be immediately returned. Now a month later it is not. Effectively Hertz has taken the deposit funds (upwards of $1,500). I have contacted Hertz and have only been told they will look into it! I have now written to Hertz head office and will update readers. But BEWARE Hertz in future! If it is sorted I will update!

We reserved couple of weeks in advance. Got confirmation.
On the day of pickup were told that it was canceled – “online”.
No other explanation or reason.
We were completely stranded and when asked to rent a car were told ” sorry we are booked up till next month”
When we called main reservation desk, we were transfered atleast 7 times with some hanging up in the middle.
It is our impression that they don’t take thier responsibility seriously. Shame!
Beware is the word!!! Made a reservation through Expedia ahead of time, all went smooth, said the price is right and added insurance as well at the desk. when i brought the car back instead of $1,300 what we agreed upon with the full coverage it was $3,150…. I was amazed from this and wanted to talk with the manager, manager came and said this is their Representative fault for misleading me and she will give me a “Discount” of $200 for that. i told her that it’s their fault but didn’t even care. This is a BAD way of doing business. you have better companies in the city, just ignore this one.
Only 3 stars because I paid my balance in advance because I wanted an suv and when I got there which was a 2-3 hours after my reservation time they told me that they gave it away already which wasn’t right because I paid in advance only for that reason so it’s reserved for me… but they were kind of nice and gave me a good price on another car and made it easy and fast…
DO NOT EVEN THINK OF GOING HERE. The biggest scam of my life. They gave me a broken car, and will not refund me for damages they gave it with. They also charge insane amounts for going over your kilometres and are extremely rude. Horrendously service quality.
They also wrote my email wrong and never bothered to ask me to verify. I have yet to receive my receipt from them. Just thousands of dollars of charges on my credit card.
