  1. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! They make it look as if they are a professional company but they treat you like an animal. They made us wait four hours for our car even we had a prior reservation. And during the hole process they never told us how much time we need to wait, they made it look as is if they were going to give us the car immediately so you do all the process and after that they let you know that it will be some hours, but when this happens you already invested much time so you your best option is to wait more but you don’t imagine that it will take 4 hours in total. You complain and nobody takes responsibility, they say they are only employees and not the ones deciding anything, and they are the ones offended when you complain.

  2. DON’T GET SCAMMED!

After picking up the white Toyota Corolla Hybrid and driving a short distance to a store, I noticed a small gap where the front left fender panel met the front body panel, over the wheel well. That gap wasn’t there when we picked up the car, which bothered me.

After driving a bit more, the gap widened to about an inch. It easily went back together with a slight push of my hand. Each time we parked, the gap reappeared and went back together with a little push. This kept going on, especially after going over speed bumps. I noticed that pushing on the front panel one way closed the gap and that pushing on it the other way widened it.

I looked into the wheel well and discovered that the little plastic connector that holds the fender panel to the wheel well was inserted into the fender, but not into the wheel well material. So I reinserted it the right way and the problem went away for the rest of the week.

Upon returning the car, there was no gap. After the lot attendant took pictures, he drove the car to another area, then stepped away from us and made a phone call. Then he came back and asked if we bought the damage waiver. I said no, and I asked if there’s a problem. He said “You’d better pray there isn’t.“ Then he took a detailing cloth and rubbed an imaginary “spot” on the front panel HARD. Nothing happened. Then he said “Thank God, it’s OK. “

I can only imagine what he would have demanded had he succeeded in making that gap reappear. I’d be very interested to hear if anyone else has had such an experience at this location. Here’s a photo of the lot attendant.

  3. Great place! Highly recommend using them! I rented a car for one day in Israel and i realized after i returned it that i by mistake left my phone in the car. They were beyond nice and helpful returning it to me. They even went out of their way to leave it with the door man of the building bec i was only able to pick it up after they closed for the day. Special shout out to Yaron Levy and some nice guy behind the counter at the sarei yisroel location.

  4. I have read a lot of mixed reviews about rental companies in Israel, but I had a good experience with Sixt. The staff was helpful and kind. Note that this location is in a building, upstairs – take the elevator.

  5. – No clear communication of what “full tank policy” covers.
    – Service a bit slow. 45 min to collect a car. 30 min to drop.
    – 250km milage per day
    – Everything else was fine. Nice car.
    – I’ll advice anyone who needs to rent here to ask as many questions as possible before accepting.

Renting a car from these guys makes me ashamed to be a Hertz. The first rental I made, the car they gave me filthy and had to wait for the bad service. The second time they tried to charge me OVER $500 IN DAMAGES!! always videotape and photograph, thank god able to have it reversed.

We chose Hertz based on their reputation which was a higher level than its neighbours though slightly more expensive. The service we received at the time of the rental was good. Though there was no walk around with us to ensure the car was undamaged. We had to do that on our on initiative. The service we received when returning the car was dreadful. We were charged for cleaning the car seats as well as a small sent on the wheel arch which wasn’t clear if it had been there prior. Not saying other rental car agencies would be better but tread carefully with this Hertz branch.

Was very frustrating dealing with them, the customer service is centered on them not on the customers. Should call it customer supervisor or the like. The manager, the workers at the counters, the garage guy, they were all akin to state owned enterprise workers in communist times.

For every abnormality or defect they would try to make it your problem even if it is not, and get you to take care of the problem, whether during the trip when your report an unusual thing (we were at the dead sea and they asked us to go to a car repair place for something that’s inconsequential and unrelated to us), or at the end when returning the car. At the time of payment we were suddenly informed we cannot use the spouse’s credit card even though the spouse of the driver was literally standing in front of them. And of course no one told us that before. They don’t give a beep about inconveniencing you at any given point of time. For the price we pay, this is simply outrageous. So disappointed. Would NOT recommend!

Worst rental experience ever. Waited at least an hour for my reservation, they said there are no cars available. I got an upgrade, but then the car was not checked, didn’t get the usual paperwork indicating scratches etc. The car was in an underground garage, no signs pointing to where to pick up the car, had to go up a flight of stairs, and then 4 men sitting around a plastic table said “Hertz.” They asked ME if I had the key to the car. Of course I didn’t, and they first had to get the key. They didn’t check the car for scratches, etc; they said “no need – it’s a new car…” So frustrating and so not customer service oriented. I took pictures of damage I saw and sent them to the rental agent. And a few minutes after driving the check tire light went on, but I was already too far away to turn back. Of course they’re happy to hold a big payment on your credit card. I do not recommend using them. Shame on you Hertz, you need to try harder…

The staff was really rude and not helpful. We booked a car at 9 am and left around 10.30 because the car was not ready at our time. Then they tried to pin on us some scratches to the car but fortunately we had photos of everything… We also could not drop off the car at night so it is not easy to book it for a day trip
