6 months agoDuring my 10-day trip to Israel, I chose Suncar’s services due to their competitive rates. However, there were several aspects of the experience that fell short of my expectations.Upon booking a Skoda Karoq, I received a 5-year-old model from 2018. The car’s interior displayed significant wear, including stained seats with cigarette burns, and it had a noticeable cigarette odor. After bringing this to their attention, they replaced it with a Hyundai Kona. Though it was a newer model, it still had its issues and was smaller than what I had anticipated for my family’s needs.
Another critical point for potential renters is understanding their return policy. The Hulon branch closes at 4:00 PM. In my case, returning the car the same day was imperative as I had a flight early the next morning, before the branch’s opening hours. Due to my inability to return the car during their operational hours, they had to send someone specially to reopen the branch, which incurred additional fees. The combined charges amounted to approximately €150 with taxes.
While the staff at the Hulon branch were initially welcoming, I found their weekend support limited mainly to emergencies. When I had to inform them about my unforeseen delay in car return, the subsequent interaction left much to be desired.
I hope sharing this experience assists future renters in making informed choices when considering Suncar in Hulon.
4 years agoSun car is an ok place to rent a car. Customer Service is nice and the Desk staff as well. Prices are fair. The car I had was ok. Scratched and past the best days, Not super clean, no water in the windshield washer to clean. However, I would always prefer a car that has multiple small damages in Israel because of the reckless driving and parking . Child seats look messy to unacceptable. I got there at 7:58 and one of staff answered my question if he works there by showing me 8 fingers and counting them in Hebrew. I guess he meant that the would only open at 8. He finally also gave me the car. Mounting the child seats for him meant throwing them in the trunk. Did not show me the damages and was eager to made me sign quickly his damage assessment. I insisted to walk around the car and found another big one that he had overlooked. Due to his unfriendliness it was not easy to do that. Bottom line it is an ok place to rent if you are not from the back of the moon.4 years agoI’ve rented a car from them a few times, as a tourist and as a resident of Israel. The staff are friendly, pleasant, and faster to give you your car than at the larger international car companies, where I have had to wait for a long time. The cars are quite good, and the prices are generally lower than at larger companies. I definitely recommend this company.8 months agoIt was agreed that the price would be 2,470 and they are charging me 3,333 and every time I reach out they say they are going to speak to a manager. Seems like a scam.5 years agoI live in Tel Aviv and rent a car here from time to time. IMO this is the best company to rent from. The service is perfect and the cars are reliable and usually well maintained. The staff, and most notably Liran, will always provide the best experience for the client and address all their needs and requests in a kind and flexible manner. After trying many car rental providers I came to the conclusion SunCar is the best in the area, and that includes their excellent pricing too.

TLDR: When in Israel avoid SIXT (prefer Hertz), outside of Israel SIXT is definitely a good choice.
Loyal customer of SIXT outside of Israel (mostly Netherlands), been using them for years and was always extremely satisfied. First time I rented a car in Israel so immediately went for Shlomo SIXT, bad decision 🙁
I suggest you try another company, going to give Hertz and Auto Shay a chance next.
They really are not aligned with the customer experience you usually get from SIXT, mistakes happen, it’s all about how a company deals with them and for me it was full of excuses, putting blame on the customer (I received a faulty car…) and not offering solutions (even when I was willing to pay).
Update: Went with Hertz, huge difference in service level.
Update 2: been renting from Hertz for almost two months now (Nes Ziona branch), it is not problem free (nothing really is), but the way they deal with issues is on a completely different level compared to Shlomo SIXT, they took responsibility and addressed the issue.
Excruciatingly long waiting times to get and return the car. Add at least 1 hour for the time you plan to spend here.
Rented here twice, just because of the price.
Not tourists friendly
They said: no cars now, maybe later today. They also said you may do the online order. I did, paid the deposit. Now they say no cars today, not tomorrow morning. Calling them to refund the deposit, so far 50 minutes on the line.
